People often say:

ππ "We're not under the law anymore."
But have you ever stopped and asked yourself a simple question?
If there is no law... then what is sin?
The Bible gives a direct answer:
1 John 3:4 KJV
ππ "Sin is the transgression of the law."
Sin is not merely a mistake.
Sin is not simply being imperfect.
Sin is breaking God's standard.
Now think about the implications.
If there is no law:
π No transgression.
π No sin.
π No need for forgiveness.
Yet the entire gospel is built upon the reality that mankind needs forgiveness.
Acts 26:18 KJV
ππ "That they may receive forgiveness of sins..."
Why would we need forgiveness if there is no sin?
And why would there be sin if there is no law?
The problem is not God's law.
The problem is that all of us have broken it.
That is why Christ came.
That is why Christ died.
That is why repentance is preached.
Luke 24:47 KJV
ππ "And that repentance and remission of sins should be preached in his name among all nations..."
Repentance only makes sense if sin exists.
And sin only makes sense if there is a standard.
James 4:17 KJV
ππ "Therefore to him that knoweth to do good, and doeth it not, to him it is sin."
The gospel is not:
π Ignore God's standard.
The gospel is:
π We have all fallen short of God's standard.
π Christ paid the penalty for our sins.
π Through faith we receive forgiveness.
π Through repentance we turn from sin and follow Him.
God's law reveals sin.
Christ's cross provides forgiveness.
The truth is not complicated.
No law = no sin.
No sin = no need for forgiveness.
