The first four commandments are not random laws.

They all deal with one thing:

LOYALTY TO GOD.

1. No other gods.

2. No invented worship.

3. Do not carry HIS name falsely.

4. Remember HIS sanctified day.

Notice the pattern.

False gods.

False worship.

False representation.

False sanctification.

The 4th commandment is not isolated from the others. It completes the chain.

👉👉 Exodus 20:11

"For in six days the LORD made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that in them is..."

The Sabbath identifies the Creator Himself.

It is HIS sign.

HIS memorial.

HIS authority.

Now here is the question many avoid:

If idolatry is replacing GOD'S authority with another authority, then how can man change a sanctified day established by GOD and still call it obedience?

If the 2nd commandment forbids invented worship, by what authority can man invent another holy day?

The first four commandments are not suggestions.

They are covenant loyalty.
